Hi, I’m Greg.

I'm a Juilliard-trained musician and teacher.

Most of my life is spent thinking about music from a few different angles: performing it, teaching it, and figuring out how to help other people enjoy learning it.

LEARN MUSIC WITH ME

Private and group instruction for young musicians and adults, with an emphasis on building strong fundamentals while keeping curiosity and enjoyment at the center of the process.

HELP WITH PRACTICE

Helping your child practice can be confusing, especially if you don't play an instrument yourself. I've put together a few resources to help you feel more confident supporting their musical journey.

Start with 6 Days of Better Practice, a free guide with six simple ideas you can try at home.

For a deeper look, my book Playful Practice explores practical approaches to motivation, problem-solving, independence, and the role parents can play in helping their children learn.

And Practice Superstar gives your child something to bring to the instrument: a set of missions and challenges designed to put those ideas into action.

RHYTHM LAB

The Rhythm Lab is a collection of books and resources designed to help beginning band and orchestra musicians build confidence with rhythm.

From first notes and rests to more challenging patterns, these materials give students practical ways to develop the skills they'll use in rehearsals, lessons, and beyond.

ABOUT ME

I’m a professional musician and teacher based in New York City. As a percussionist, I perform with orchestras throughout the world and on Broadway, and have even appeared on screen in major motion pictures and television shows.

But some of the work I'm proudest of happens far away from the concert stage, teaching piano and percussion to students of all ages. Working with students has also led me to become interested in everything surrounding the process of learning music: how we practice, how we stay motivated, how parents can help, and how students gradually learn to take ownership of their own progress.

These interests have led me to create teaching materials, practice resources, and other tools designed to help students and families navigate the learning process and build a lifelong relationship with music
